Today, July 28, 2009 another hearing was held in the House Ag Committee. This hear was different, in that dairy farmers, many dairy farmers went to the hearing in Washington, DC.
According to some who were there, somewhere between 250 and 300 dairy farmers appeared. Now that is different.
Three cheers or maybe four or more need to go to that went to DC today.

does anyone know the outcome of yesterday's hearing?
ReplyDeleteI would have loved to have gone. I would also like to know if it's going to do any good. Only time will tell... if we have time.
ReplyDeleteI was there. I got in- they only took about 40 people out of the 250+ who stood in line. Basically, the end result was a 50/50 split of the panel on whether or not there should be a supply management program.
ReplyDeleteHow do they determine who testifies? I'd really like to know how some of these guys got in there. Four of them weren't speaking for me or the 55 other farmers that went with me from NY.
Its great that the "real" Dairy farmers showed up, but after reading some of the testimony (FarmBureau) I fear same-old same-old
