According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics data the spread between farm and processor has increased 184% June 09 vs June 09.

ReplyDeleteIt's about time - thank God for Sanders! Where the heck are the rest of the Senators and Congressmen? Does no other state care about thier dairy industry? Does nobody else want the jobs and revenue dairy brings to many areas? Surely processors must understand, at least a little bit, the suffering their milk suppliers are going through? Will critical mass be reached? Will dairy farmers unite for thier own good? Or when the going gets tough will the tough quit dairying and do something more profitable? Right now "more profitable" is about anything else including street beggar.
