Responsibility?

(click on image to enlarge)

The above auction listing will probably become more common. I am reminded of Genesis where Cain responds, "Am I my brother's keeper?"

From the standpoint of decency, does the bank have a responsibility to make certain the cows a adequately fed?

When all is said and done, there are many more to share in the blame for this current nation dairy tradgedy.

  1. Most know that Cain and Able were the first two sons of Adam and Eve and that Cain committed the first murder killing his brother Able. Cain tilled the soil and grew crops and Able tended the herds and flocks.
    Even though Able was killed, Cain suffered the most because of it; as the dairy industry in the United States is destroyed and farmers "murdered" who's to say who will suffer the most? Will it be the true villains not paying a fair price for the raw material they need or perhaps the country as a whole that will no longer be able to feed itself?
    As the in-laws visit from the city during the holidays, I'm amazed at how naive they are on what it takes for farmers to actually feed them - they haven't a clue and would starve in a heartbeat without us, yet they show no gratitude, often times thinking our struggles futile, maybe they're right? Maybe we should all go out of business and hope that countries like Russia and China will bolster their dairy industries enough to supply our children with dairy products and we can just keep buying from them until we're out of money - which will be sooner than later.
    Or perhaps we can wake-up to the fact that most folks in this country CAN'T or won't do what we do for them and that we have all the leverage needed to change our destiny - we have the cows.
    While I see nothing wrong with capitalism, in it's simplest form. I think it's time we take another lesson from the bible but this time from Jesus and the new testament; it's time we throw the thieving money changers and greedy profiteers out of this business before we're all murdered.

    I know many or perhaps most agree with me, as the markets turn south again, how long before we play our hand? How long do we endure this needless hardship? How long do we allow ourselves to be downtrodden and oppressed?
    I leave you with two of the most famous quotes in history;
    "The only thing necessary for evil to flourish is for goon men to do nothing." (Edmund Burke)

    "Freedom is never given by the oppressor; it must be demanded by the oppressed." (Martin Luther King Jr.)

    We are all good men, being oppressed, and doing nothing.

    Think about it.

    Sorry I ran so long.

  2. Knowing a little bit about this, situation where the bank let someone expand that should not have. Helped them get an FSA gurantee. Our tax money hard at work. Now the bank owns 2 farms and cows, and will never get out of them what is owed.
