Today the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) release its CPI (Consumer Price Index). Dairy price to the public are up in January 2010 over December 2009.
Milk (whole) 4.22 %
Butter 4.12
Process Cheese 0.44
Cheddar 3.69
Ice Cream 5.88
The "All Milk" price to farmers is the same for both months and the manufacturing price is actually down 1.8%, December 09 vs January 2010.

Proof of asymetric(sp) pricing? How long does this have to go on and how big does the mountain of evidence have to get before someone in an authoritative position does thier job? Or do we have nobody in that position?DWCovert
ReplyDeleteNo, it's not what you think, it's really all supply and demand... there's not any funny business going on (ever). Just be good little farmers and keep selling us milk for such a nice (low) price. Pay no attention to the price at the supermarket, that has nothing to do with the price of farm milk, haven't we told you all this before?
