IDFA has some on the China trade fiasco:

They do not say so but, it is my understanding the problem relates to Johne's.
See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johne%27s_disease
The largest export to China is whey. China takes nearly 30% of our whey exports. Watch for whey and NFDM prices to fall.

they should worry more about Somatic cell count
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a maneuver by China to lower prices, once they drop they will start buying again. NMPF and IDFA wouldn't be raising a finger to help dairymen so Fonterra must be in line for a big hit.
ReplyDeleteWhat are you talking about, SCC???? 750,000 is not a health issue. I do not agree. Also, I do not agree about Johne's. Everything is becoming so political, we are screwed. Why should China worry about food safety for crying out loud. They have plenty of skeletons in their closet. This is all about politics.
