Signs of the times

Frustrations are to be seen everywhere. The above photo was sent to me and confirms that one picture is worth a thousand words.

Every picture has a value. After several people sent me an email of my picture of Nestle's Sweetened Condensed Milk which was lifted with just a couple of clicks from this blog, I decided to put my name on all further pictures. I certainly don't mind people sending information or pictures they find on this blog but, there is an investment of time, money and knowledge which goes into the blog and each picture. So, please, if you are going to use something, give credit where credit is due.

  1. This disappoints me. This owner is putting down his coop. I went to my DFA coop meeting the other night, and was one of only a few that asked questions or made any comments. Why are more people stepping up and questioning what is going on instead of just complaining a vilifying DFA. I don;t like everything they are doing, but I call them to the carpet on it. They don't always give me the answer I want to hear, but they give me the big picture view on why they are doing different things. Sometimes I am ok with that, and other times I am not.

These are the things more of need to do. question what is going on instead of just complaining. We own these coops, and we can lead the direction they go.

  2. I couldn't help but chuckle. The thing is though. When are these producers going to stand up and do something about their Co-Op? When are we all going to stand up and do something?

  3. Hey Sara,
I theorise many of these producers live in a constant state of fear...DFA's the only market open to them-ask too many questions and you may be seen as a troublemaker; and John Bunting can tell you, first hand, what happens to DFA troublemakers.
You are absolutely correct; nothing will happen until we all "man-up" and support those DFA dairymen who would retake DFA from those who manage the damn thing like a Soviet-style "Evil Empire"-
Jared asks why the "owner" depicted in John's blog would put down his own co-op? Maybe because he feels the co-op "owns" him rather than he it... glad I've still got a choice for my milk... not everyone does. Nate Wilson
